Jim Beyers has been a partner at the firm since 1975. He possesses a deep expertise in real estate law and has represented many commercial and residential real estate developers in Northern California.
PETER L. SIMON – Shareholder
Peter Simon is an accomplished litigator and trial lawyer who handles all types of general and business litigation, with an emphasis on real estate and complex business disputes. He has successfully tried numerous cases in both federal and state courts and has substantial appellate experience with extraordinary writs and state court appeals.
MICHAEL GARCIA – Shareholder
Michael Garcia has broad experience in all aspects of business and real estate transactions including business entity formation, corporate financing, private offerings, mergers and acquisitions, and real property financing, construction, development, and leasing.
STEVEN BLEASDELL – Partner
Steve Bleasdell works extensively in real estate and commercial litigation, with an emphasis on construction defect litigation, easement and boundary disputes, and real estate transaction disputes. One of his more esoteric areas of expertise involves the installation of manufactured housing on a foundation system and lien priority issues that arise when installation is done improperly.
SUZANNE BABB – Partner
Suzanne Babb is a litigation partner with the firm. During the recent financial crisis, she fearlessly staked out a practice challenging major U.S. banks on claims of predatory lending, fraud, and overreaching. She has continued to work on consumer protection cases, including bad faith insurance cases.
THOMAS DAVENPORT – Counsel
Tom Davenport’s practice emphasizes business organization and finance, real estate acquisitions, leasing, sales, and development, with an emphasis on the wine business.
RICHARD S. BAUM – Counsel
Rick Baum’s practice focuses on the representation of individuals and businesses in contractual and insurance disputes. Rick litigates claims of breach of contract and insurance bad faith, as well as real property issues.

CHRISTOPHER G. COSTIN – Retired
Chris Costin, co-founder of the firm, practiced law in Sonoma County for over 38 years. His practice covered a broad range of real estate and business matters, including civil litigation, land use, and reorganization. His litigation practice included construction defect, environmental contamination, real estate finance, purchase disputes, and partnership matters.
